Piping Plover Volunteers Needed!

Ontario Parks is looking for volunteers to become Piping Plover guardians at 2 locations – North Beach Provincial Park (Prince Edward County) and locally at Darlington Provincial Park. The volunteer’s responsibilities would include public outreach and education as well as ensuring the adult plovers and chicks are safe when around the public. The most important period would be from when the chicks hatch to their fledging date.  

Currently, the expected hatch to fledge date for North Beach is July 4th – July 29th. The hatch to fledge date for Darlington is July 16th – August 10th.
